AJ, you "can't" play online games in Smart ba? I never tried eh, so I don't know. I use Globe for instant messeging lang (IM+ or Agile). They don't have heavy per kb usage kasi. It is expensive if I use Smart for this, since I leave it on the entire day. But, for surfing, Smart rocks  P10 for 30 minutes! And, if you're in a 3G area, it's really fast. Sulit |

guys, gals, APNs of Globe: myGlobe GPRS -for proxy browsing (HTTP only) myGlobe Internet-full internet access (outside their walled garden, you can use IM here, I'm using this one for YehBA* Mobile IM myGlobe INET (this one is quite new, i think this one replaces the myGlobe GPRS, without specifying a proxy IP). the GMX APN, for their own IM. It doesnt work for me either, i wasted several sms to the short code number but no reply back for the WAP push. so downloaded it straight but still nowhere. oh well.. |

hello guys, this is how to set your GPRS/MMS for globe users all you have to do is type this one: GO,,1234 example: GO k610i,,1234 and send it to 2951 just wait for their activation reply, well activation process was at least 24 hours then they will send you settings for your unit. They will ask you for the password/passcode just type 1234 to every setting and it will be automatically be saved. And that's it! |

yung code is TIME and send it to 1111- that's for P5/15mins browsing. it is P5/15mins, not P15/30mins. and you also have the option to switch back to per KB (for reading blogs or posting updates) by texting KB to 1111. for more info about this, just text INFO to the same number. switching between the billing schemes is for free as well as the info. just be advised that you have to stay connected for the entire 15 minutes if you are a prepaid subscriber, otherwise you will be charged a 15-minute session each time you connect. as for postpaid subscribers, you are allowed to connect and disconnect anytime within that 15-minute time span and you only are charged on per 15 minute basis. happy browsing!  |

totoo ba 'to? i tested the speed of globe 3g on both my phones- one with regular 3g and the other with hsdpa, one is set to 3g signal and the other to hsdpa signal. i used a third party browser on both phones as well as the in-built browsers to access the speed test utilities online. 3:00AM Download= 3.6Mbps Upload= 2.1Mbps 7:00AM Download= 2.0Mbps Upload= 1.11Mbps 10:00AM Download= 1.46Mbps Upload= .76Mbps those basically are averages as i used three different sites for testing. and the weird thing is that it is i am getting pretty much similar results with both phones, and i thought hsdpa should be faster. am i using the wrong speed test sites and are they only measuring then speed of globe's server connection and not from my phone (this seems to be the explanation with the similar speed results)? also, i thought hsdpa is only capable of around 1.8Mbps? could you recommend a correct process or a site which could best measure connection/bandwidth speed for phones? i am impressed of globe's 3g service in our area (up diliman), though. i am able to download 3 full mp3 files (file sizes of between 4 to 7 MB)directly through my phone in 15 minutes! and that is at peak hour of around 10AM! that, i have not experienced with my 3 year with smart bro both in bicol and here in metro manila. |

For more popular phones, you can have your settings sent to you by just sending GO (Handset Model. ex: N6120) to 2951 for GPRS/MMS settings and then INET also to 2951. Sending the message and the settings should be free but you should have at least P60 in your balance. For those using Sony Ericsson and Nokia, their websites do have a service where you can have the settings sent to you by just filling out a form on their support site. |
